A series of paintings celebrating American Heritage Farm Animals that are on the American Livestock Breed Conservancy's Priority List. The animals are placed among ancient ruins that are collaged of text from an old copy of the Republic of Plato. The ruins and Greek philosophy refer to our cultural heritage in the ancient world. Like the ancient architecture, the genetic lines of heritage animals took a long time to develop with many hands and many minds contributing. Empires rise and fall, but one thing that remains constant is the need for people to eat and take care of each other and the world in which we live.
